Courtney and Nathan’s Umstead wedding was everything we love in weddings. The warmth and love of two amazing families, wonderful friends, and a classy and elegant evening of fun and enjoyment.

The morning began in the bridal suite with The Glosserie (makeup) and Umstead staff taking care of the brides every need. We were joined by the insanely talented Cara of F8 Photo Studios for the final preperations and Courtney and Nathan’s “first shot” — an adaptation of the first look/around the corner tradition that was a nice personal touch for starting the festivities.

Weddings in the Umstead courtyard, especially with A Southern Soiree on as planner, are always stunning. Courtney and Nathan’s joint emotional reaction to each other was perhaps one of our favorite moments of the day, though, there were many more tears shed at the reception.

Both of the parent dances were joyous and tear filled and there really wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Filming through tears can be a challenge but something you learn to do with so many incredible couples.

Evening music was provided by the Hipshack Band through Sam Hill Entertainment and they did a fabulous job keeping the dance floor packed.

Gina from A Southern Soiree kept the day running smoothly and effortlessly for all involved and the design of the reception was flawlessly executed along with flowers from Tre Bella.
